The Akreos Micro Incision Lens (MIL) combines the benefits of an aberration-free aspheric acrylic lens with the material and design characteristics that allow it to be inserted into a true 1.8 mm incision. Using Bausch + Lomb’s trusted Micro Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS) platform, the Akreos MIL enjoys the numerous advantages of 1.8 mm surgery, including a reduced risk of surgically induced astigmatism, reduced endothelial cell loss, increased wound sealability and minimal corneal stress.

Building on the proven performance of Bausch + Lomb products, the Akreos MIL material has been used by physicians since 1998. Its award-winning design also boasts a moderate refractive index, with inherently low surface reflectivity to reduce glare and its adverse effects1.
